About Bolts & Bees

Hello and welcome to Bolts & Bees! I’m Danaë Shadbolt-Beedell, and I make every piece of children’s clothing by hand here in Paraparaumu, New Zealand. Bolts & Bees officially launched on 10 May 2021, turning a little hobby into a small handmade clothing brand for kids aged 6 months to 10 years. Sustainability is at the heart of everything I do — almost every scrap of fabric gets used, whether for scrunchies or stuffing, and leftover paper from cutting patterns is recycled into new paper. Each garment is made with practicality, comfort, and long-lasting wear in mind, and everything from tiny scraps to full-sized pieces is stitched intentionally and with care. Bolts & Bees isn’t just clothing — it’s a small, handmade, and sustainable brand full of creativity and joy, bringing a little love into every item I make.
